Retired cop shot, robbed in Parañaque
MANILA, Philippines - Four alleged robbers shot a retired policeman before taking away his P150,000 cash along A. Santos Avenue in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City over the weekend.
Rodolfo Dimacali was taken to the Olivarez Hospital for treatment, according to city police chief Senior Superintendent Andrei Felix.
Felix said Dimacali’s companion, Rufina Legaspi, was unharmed.
Policemen arrested yesterday two of the suspects at a police checkpoint in Barangay La Huerta. They were identified as Dionisio Danger and Jefferson de Ocampo.
Investigation showed that Dimacali and Legaspi were riding a Toyota Vios when the four suspects on two motorcycles blocked their path and announced a holdup.
Police said Dimacali resisted, prompting two of the suspects to shoot him twice in the body.
The suspects escaped toward Sucat after taking the loot.
Police said De Ocampo was wearing a police uniform when he was caught.
Charges of frustrated murder, robbery and usurpation of authority are being readied against the suspects.
Chief Superintendent Jose Erwin Villacorte, Southern Police District director, said they have launched a massive manhunt for the two other suspects.
