1 dead, 2 hurt in shooting at wake

MANILA, Philippines - An alleged drug runner was shot dead while two others were wounded when armed men staged an attack at a wake in Barangay Paltok, Quezon City at past midnight yesterday.

Antonio Garcia, 41, and his brother were about to leave the wake when they were shot at by two unidentified men, Senior Police Officer 1 Johnny Mahilum said.

Garcia was hit in the chest. He was declared dead on arrival at the St. Agnes Hospital.

A bullet grazed the head of nine-year-old Erlyn Agustin while Marissa Corpuz, 47, was hit in the right arm. Both were treated at the Quezon City General Hospital.
