Boy kills teen after dawn Mass

MANILA, Philippines - An 11-year-old boy was arrested while two of his companions fled after shooting a 19-year-old man after dawn Mass in Caloocan City yesterday.

Mario Magalona, 19, died of a gunshot wound in the chest on the way to the Tondo General Hospital.

Investigators said the victim and his friends were walking home along 4th Avenue after attending dawn Mass when the boy shot at Magalona with a .38 caliber revolver at around 6 a.m.. It was not clear how the boy got hold of the gun or who owns it.

The boy was arrested in a follow-up operation while the other suspects – Louie Parado, 21; and an alias Jayson, 18 – fled after the incident and remain at large.
