Tugboat crewman nabbed for colleague’s slay

MANILA, Philippines - A quartermaster of a tugboat was arrested Saturday night for allegedly hacking the chief engineer to death over an old grudge.

Police officer 3 Amelito Lopez said chief engineer Rio Billones, 44, had a heated argument with quartermaster Jolito Sibonga, 40, at around 8:45 p.m. on the M/T Nicole Docket at the Manila Harbor Center.

Billones died from several hack wounds. Sibonga is being held at the Manila Police District’s homicide investigation section.
