Cabbie's body stuffed in taxi's trunk

MANILA, Philippines - The body of a taxi driver was found in the rear compartment of a taxi in Pasig City yesterday morning.

Joselito Ladlad, 44, had been stabbed in different parts of the body. He was identified through his driver’s license, which was found in his wallet, which also contained P2,500.

Police Officer 3 Harold Mangaoil said a “concerned citizen” reported an abandoned Blue Cab taxi (UVN-424) at the corner of Luningning and Diwata streets in Barangay Rosario at around 6 a.m.

The taxi had its headlights on but no one was in the vehicle, he said.

When they opened the rear compartment, Mangaoil said they were surprised to find Ladlad’s body.
