Rally coordinator slain in Binondo

MANILA, Philippines - An alleged rally coordinator was killed by an unidentified gunman in Binondo, Manila hours before protesters were supposed to gather for President Aquino’s State of the Nation Address yesterday.

Princess Verano, 26, was shot while riding a pedicab in front of Area B, Gate 52, Parola Compound, police said.

Verano’s companion, Levi Cordova, 36, was injured in the shooting and taken to the Gat Andres Bonifacio Hospital in Tondo for treatment.

Bystanders said Verano is a known rally coordinator in their community.
