Jobless man held for theft

MANILA, Philippines - A jobless man was arrested shortly after robbing a housewife and her daughter in Caloocan City at dawn yesterday.

Nabbed was Bowie Redovante, 26.

Victim May Anabeza, 38, told SPO1 Joselito Barredo Jr. that she and her nine-year-old daughter were walking on their way home at 1:30 a.m. when the robbery took place.

She said Redovante grabbed her daughter and pointed a kitchen knife on her side.

The suspect took Anabeza’s bag containing a cellphone worth P4,000, P1,000 cash, ATM cards and other personal belongings.

Anabeza shouted for help, catching the attention of bystanders who arrested the suspect.

Redovante is now locked up in jail facing theft charges.
