Fire hits PSE building

MANILA, Philippines - A two-hour fire damaged the basement of the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) in Pasig City yesterday, destroying property estimated at P1 million.

Initial reports stated the fire started in the electrical room at the basement of the Tektite Towers building at about 1:45 a.m.

The fire engulfed the equipment in the basement but failed to spread to the upper floors. Nobody was injured in the fire.

Responding firemen put out the blaze at about 4:15 a.m.

Arson investigators are trying to determine the cause of the blaze. – Non Alquitran
