Box causes panic in QC barangay

A box left in front of a house in Project 8, Quezon City caused panic among residents, who initially thought it contained a bomb.

Those living near the house on Wisdom street in Barangay Bahay Toro still panicked after discovering that the box did not contain any explosive, but an amputated left foot wrapped in a black plastic bag.

Police officers from the Quezon City police’s criminal investigation unit rushed to the area and found that the foot belonged to Avelino Romaluan, a diabetic patient at the Quezon Memorial General Hospital.

The police said the foot bore a tag with the name of the doctor who conducted the operation on Romaluan.

The police said they will check why the disposal of Romaluan’s foot was not properly handled. – Edu Punay
