The owners of the establishments were already given notice to voluntarily dismantle illegal structures they erected along sidewalks.

Mayor Belmonte said that the design of sidewalks must be adjusted into two meters width from its original width of one meter, more particularly at Roces Avenue.

The mayor also directed City Engineer Joselito Cabungcal to ensure that no illegal permanent structures must be established at Timog Avenue and elsewhere, to allow pedestrian access to the area and encourage the legitimate business operations there at night time.

An engineer was assigned to monitor the existing structure in Timog area which was reported that the sidewalks in the area will be paved with carbon to make sure that no permanent structures will be used as permanent parking area.  – With Leslee Montano
