Trinidad seeks disqualification of 2 Pasay bets

Former Pasay Mayor Wenceslao "Peewee" Trinidad has asked the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to disqualify two mayoralty candidates who both carry his surname.
In a three-page complaint, Trinidad said Neil and Ramon Trinidad should be declared as "nuisance candidates" by the Comelec because they have no capability nor the means to run a campaign in their bid for mayor of Pasay in the May 14 elections.
Trinidad accused his political rivals of waging "dirty tricks" and fielding the two Trinidads.
"These are part of the dirty tricks of my political opponents to confuse the voters and ensure my defeat in the coming election. These two candidates have no capability to wage their campaign," Trinidad said.
Trinidad claimed that they have found that Neil has no permanent employment or any properties in the city while Ramon is only a pedicab driver.
Trinidad and Vice Mayor Antonino Calixto including eight city councilors were suspended in September last year and were eventually dismissed from the service for their alleged involvement in the alleged anomalous P464-million garbage collection and disposal contracts that they entered on behalf of the city government in 2004 and 2005.
