Caloocan City Mayor Enrico "Recom" Echiverri has cited the citys barangays and the strong partnership between the private and public sector for the recognition received by Caloocan as the second cleanest city in Metro Manila.
According to Echiverri, the recognition became possible with almost all the 188 barangays in Caloocan complying with the Materials Recovery Facility Program (MRFP) being implemented by the city government."Hence, my congratulations to our barangay leaders for you have once again proven that unity shall certainly bring us to greater heights amid insurmountable tasks," he said.
Echiverri said the present city government has succeeded in correcting the social, economic and physical discrepancies that prevailed in Caloocan for the past several years.
He said the recognition given to Caloocan could also be attributed to the strong partnership between the private and public sectors.
"This strong partnership which is embodied by each and everyones recognition on the specific roles and tasks, led us to accomplish in building a better community," Echiverri said.
As he explained that the current city leadership has always believed in the principle of participatory governance, with the local communities and the business sectors active involvement in directing the development goals of Caloocan.
Meanwhile, Echiverri has again called on the local citizenry to actively participate in the cleanliness effort of the city government.
"Kailangan tayong magtulungang lahat upang mapanatili nating malinis ang ating mahal na Lungsod ng Caloocan," he said.
"I believe in creating an atmosphere that would be conducive and supportive of business growth while at the same time providing critical social services to our citizenry."
