Caloocan traffic rerouted for Independence Day

Caloocan City Mayor Enrico Echiverri urged residents yesterday to join the celebration of the country’s 108th Independence Day at the Bonifacio Monument on Monday.

Echiverri said Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban will be present to lead the cit’ys commemoration of the declaration of indpendence with the theme "Kalayaan 2006: Pagkakaisa Para sa Matatag na Republika."

He said the program will start at 8 a.m. and advised motorists to follow the re-routing plan prepared by the Reformed Department of Public Safety and Traffic Management which will be implemented at 5 a.m.

He advised all vehicles, except buses, coming from Quezon City going to Valenzuela to turn right on MacArthur Highway.

Those coming from Quezon City going to Navotas and Malabon City, except buses, must turn right on MacArthur Highway, left to Potrero street left to Araneta Avenue, right to Samson Road. Public utility buses must take the usual Simon street route exiting to Araneta Avenue then to Samson Road.

Vehicles coming from Manila enroute to Valenzuela must turn right to either 5th, 8th or 9th Avenue then left to B. Serrano, right to EDSA and take the second U-turn to MacArthur Highway.

Motorists from Manila going to Quezon City must turn right to either 5th, 8th or 9th Avenue then left to B. Serrano, right to EDSA then to their point of destination.

Those coming from Manila to Malabon, Navotas, and Letre Road must turn right to 2nd or 3rd Avenue, left to M.H. del Pilar left to 4th Avenue, right to A. del Mundo Street, left to 6th Avenue to C-3 Road.

Vehicles from Valenzuela going to Manila must take Samson Road, left at Heroes del ’96, left to 10th Avenue, right to either Baltazar or Nadurata street, left to 9th Avenue then right to Rizal Avenue.

Motorists coming from Valenzuela to Quezon City must turn left to EDSA by counter flow up to the first U-turn slot and to their destination.

Those coming from Malabon, Navotas and Letre Road to Manila must take Dagat-Dagatan Avenue, left to C-3 Road and right turn to Rizal Avenue. They may also turn right on P. Sevilla street, left to 2nd Avenue then right to Rizal Avenue.

All vehicles coming from Malabon, Navotas, Letre Road, and Sangandaan in Caloocan going to Quezon City must turn right on A. Mabini or Torres Bugallon street, left to 10th Avenue, left to B. Serrano then right to EDSA.

Public utility jeepneys from Malabon, Letre Road and Sangandaan to Monumento must take the same route to Victory Compound, right to Rizal Avenue Extension, right to 10th Avenue, right to Heroes del 96 or A. Mabini street, right to 11th Avenue, right to Rizal Avenue Extension and right to A. Mabini street.
