Leap of death

A 31-year-old jobless man being treated for depression and high blood pressure in a private hospital in Sampaloc, Manila jumped to his death from the sixth floor of the medical building the other day.
Police said Remigio Sibug, of 1291 Camarines street, Tondo, was admitted to the hospital along Gov. Forbes in Sampaloc and occupied Room 604 at the sixth floor of the building.
At around 3:20 p.m. Sibug reportedly sneaked out from his parents and wife who were watching him, climbed a window and jumped from the sixth floor to the ground below.
Doctors pronounced him dead on the spot.
According to investigator SPO4 Alfredo Salazar, the fatality was a former drug dependent and was suffering from severe depression. The victim had also tried but failed to end his life several times in the past.
The victim left a suicide note in his room, according to the victims father. Nestor Etolle
