Beer sales agent loses P.5-M, car

-
A San Miguel Corp. (SMC) sales representative was robbed of some P500,000 in cash and a service vehicle by two unidentified armed men Friday afternoon in Valenzuela City.

Police reports said that Erizon de Guzman, 29, SMC Valenzuela City branch sales agent, lost his white Suzuki van (UJT 373) with SMC markings to the robbers at about 5:30 p.m. Inside the vehicle were his cash collections.

De Guzman was reportedly walking out of the Omen Videoke Bar along T. Santiago Street in Barangay Lingunan after a meal when his path was blocked by two men, one armed with a caliber .38 handgun.

The suspects ganged up on De Guzman, one punching him in the face. As the victim fell to the ground, the suspects took the keys to his vehicle.

The suspects boarded De Guzman’s service vehicle which has a built-in vault containing his collections amounting to some P500,000. The robbers sped off toward Barangay Canumay.

Senior Superintendent Leopoldo Urena, Valenzuela City police chief, immediately ordered blockades to seal off the suspects’ possible escape routes, but to no avail. Pete Laude
