CAMANAVA project launched

A pilot mass feeding program for malnourished children in depressed communities in the Caloocan-Malabon-Navotas-Valenzuela (CAMANAVA) area was launched last Wednesday in Barangay Tangos, Navotas.

Navotas Mayor Toby Tiangco, in simple rites at the Navotas National High School (Tangos) campus, lauded the efforts of the project initiators, Kabisig ng Lahi, a task force created by Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Corazon Soliman, with socio-civic leaders Vicky Wieneke, Aimee Gloria and former beauty titlist Joanne Zapanta-Andrada at the forefront.

"We are grateful for the work and the help you are giving our less fortunate members of the community. We are privileged that you are doing the launch of the pilot test in our place. This project will serve as an inspiration to all of us in doing our best for our people," Tiangco said in his brief speech.

The "Nutri-North Supplemental Feeding Project" sponsored by some 100 volunteer employees of Jollibee Corporation’s North Luzon Regional Business Unit (NLRBU), is a project tied to the national government’s poverty alleviation thrust. Jerry Botial
