CEBU, Philippines – A 21-year-old university student was found hanging lifeless in an apparent suicide Friday night in their house in Barangay Looc, Mandaue City.

Rodjade Omolon was found by his father tied from the ceiling with a rope inside his room around 10:45 p.m.

Police Officer 1 Gilbert Labiste, responding officer from Opao Police Station, said the victim's father, said the family immediately sought for medical help. However, the personnel of Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation declared the victim was already dead.

The victim's family declined to seek the help of the Scene of the Crime Operatives to further conduct investigation to determine if there was foul play involved in the victim's death, Labiste said.

Senior Police Officer 4 Fernando Gabutero of Opao Police Station said the police have found two suicide notes allegedly written by the victim. The suicide notes were addressed to the victim's parents and girlfriend.

"We fail and we got back up on our feet. We cried and we got stronger. We strived for our family and love(d) ones. And we got tired, but we never give up. Ma, Pa, sorry for this to happen. I love you both," read one of Rodjade's notes.

In a separate note to his girlfriend, Lovely Gahira, the victim wrote: "No matter how hard or complicated life is, you will always find a partner. And I hope when you find your partner, he is worth loving for. And I now found my true place with God. I love you forever. May I rest in peace."

Aside from the notes, the police also found the cellphone of the victim containing perceived suicide messages.

Despite the messages, Gabutero said they did not find any reason that may have caused Rodjade to commit suicide.

"Wa may nahisgot nga naa siya'y kaligutgot... Wa man siya'y gibasolan sa iyang mga suwat," he said.

According to the police, Omolon's immediate family members are convinced that the victim indeed committed suicide. However, even they could not tell why he did it.

The FREEMAN also tried to reach the victim's girlfriend but calls and text messages were apparently left unanswered.
