According to Mayor Quiño, the transfer of the town public market to a new site is one of the projects that the municipal government will implement this year.

The mayor said the old public market will be transferred to a better place in order to decongest the traffic at Poblacion area.

The mayor said the municipal government will purchase a lot as new site of the public market.

The construction of the new slaughter house will be also prioritized by the municipal government before the end of this year.

Mayor Quiño said the modern slaughter house will accommodate those coming from neighboring towns and will assure the public that the meat products are safe for consumption.

The third project that the municipal government eyes to implement this year is the port at the back of the old public market.

With the construction of the new port, Mayor Quiño said it will help spur more economic development for Compostela.

He further said some investors announced their interest to put up transportation services from Compostela to Lapu-Lapu City through Mactan Export Zone and Camotes Island.
