ABC commends Radaza on tourism efforts

CEBU, Philippines – For staging three successful events that promote Lapu-Lapu's tourism, the Association of Barangay Councils acknowledged Mayor Paz Radaza in its 10th General Membership Meeting on Wednesday.

Radaza was recognized at the conference room of ABC Building in Lapu-Lapu City as witnessed by 30 barangay captains who sported the city's branding shirts.

From July to August, three events promoting local economy and tourism occurred in the city, namely the recognition and awarding of the top 25 taxpayers, the launching of a new brand for Lapu-Lapu as Historic Resort City and the hosting of Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines.

For ABC President Jose Dungog, he was thankful to the Ironman event since different barangays of the city were tapped to ensure the popular international triathlon's success.

Dungog said they painted their fishing boats or "baruto" with the city's branding colors during the triathlon event.

Asked for his thoughts about the mayor's move in upgrading the city, he said he and the rest of the other barangay executives support the achievements of the mayor in making an identity for the city.

After receiving the recognition from ABC, Radaza said she was grateful for the group's act and that she shared the success of the said events with the barangays.

She also thanked the village chiefs and officials for their active involvement and extending their support during the events.
