City execs agree for ‘a better Danao’

CEBU, Philippines - Mayor Ramon "Nito" Durano III, members of the City Council and department and section heads have agreed to work together for the realization of the listed priority projects and to make Danao "a better city."

The agreement was reached during the recent three-day Strategic Planning-Executive Legislative Agenda Formulation workshop.

During the workshop, Mayor Durano noted the priorities under his administration and asked for the needed support from the City Council and department and section heads.

The meeting discussed the need to provide inventive employment opportunities and livelihood programs to the residents of the city. Also discussed was the need to reduce malnutrition among children in the different barangays.     

Further, Mayor Durano also said there is a need to complete the bulk water supply program in the city with new pipes.

The priority projects of the city also include the implementation of tourism-related projects to attract more visitors through the improvement of performance of public enterprise, the provision of tourism facilities and the increase of investment, incentive promotions and business-friendly practice in the city.

The enhancement of agricultural production and food security has also been listed as priority by the city government citing majority of the city residents in the barangays depend on agriculture.

Their full support to the police was also discussed as the city aims to maintain peace and order.

Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Ramon "Red" Durano VI vowed to support the programs of the executive department. (FREEMAN)
