Tech-voc students relocated as engrs declare bldg unsafe
CEBU, Philippines - Students of the Subangdaku Vocational and Technical School in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City were relocated to the different buildings at Subangdaku National High School while waiting the construction of the new school buildings.
Engineer Cielo Jamora, physical facilities coordinator of the Department of Education-Mandaue City Division, said the 18 classrooms previously occupied by the students from Subangdaku Vocational and Technical School are subject for demolition.
Jamora said the affected students were relocated to adjacent unused buildings in Subangdaku National High School.
She said the buildings previously occupied by students of the vocational school have been declared by the City Engineering Office unsafe for use.
The Mandaue City Engineering Office ordered the demolition of the school buildings.
The Mandaue City government allocated funds to construct another school buildings, said Jamora.
According to Jamora, Mayor Jonas Cortes announced that the funds will be taken from the cash prize received by the city government from the Department of Interior and Local Government.
The Mandaue City received P25 million from the DILG as cash prize after they received award for the Seal of Good Housekeeping. (FREEMAN)
