CEBU, Philippines - Gubernatorial aspirant Pablo John Garcia has assured Compostela town residents that the town will have a lot of projects if he and former town mayor Ritchie Wagas, who is vying again for the mayoralty post, win in the May 13 elections.

Speaking before Wagas’ sitio and barangay leaders who are identified with “Team Gawasnon,” Garcia said Wagas is the true mayor of the town as shown by the results of the recent recount by the Comelec.

“Ang inyong mayor mao gayud ang tinud-anay nga mayor sa lungsod sa Compostela ug nabiktima lang siya sa tikas,” Garcia said.

Garcia said Wagas will emerge the true mayor after the May 13 elections.

He said projects will be implemented by the provincial government in the town under his administration, a continuation of the projects started by his sister Governor Gwen Garcia.

“Pahibaw-on ko kamo akong mga kaigsoonan sa lungsod sa Compostela nga sa pagka karon ako andam na nga mulingkod pagka gobernador sa atong probinsya sa Sugbo,” Garcia said.

Garcia said his program of government will center on the improvement of infrastructure, education, and health.

Vice Gubernatorial candidate Ramon “Boboy” Durano IV failed to attend the rally but he was represented by his uncle former Danao City Mayor Jesus “Don” Durano.

Don Durano said Boboy was hospitalized for heat stroke, although he is doing well now.

He asked the people of Compostela to support Boboy and his son Ramon “Monching” Durano who is seeking a seat in the Provincial Board representing the fifth district and candidate Ben Batiquin.

Wagas, on the other hand, presented his running mate Duke Arceo and 8 aspirants for councilor. (FREEMAN)
