2 men arrested for drug dealing

CEBU, Philippines - Two drug pushers were arrested Monday in Zone Ube in barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City at around 8:45 p.m..

Gandy Ornopia, 35, was arrested by the operatives of the Basak Police station led by its chief P Sr./Insp. Wilson Abot  as soon as he handed shabu to a poseur buyer in exchange for P250 in marked money.

Ornopia yielded more shabu when frisked.

The police also arrested a man who attempted to run away when he saw policemen. Arrested was Jimmy Repello, 48.

Abot in an interview said the two men are new in the illegal drug trade.

“Actually, kining mga bataa nagsugod pa lang dyud ni og pamaligya kay nakahalin man sila og daghan niadtong pista (two weeks ago) busa nagpadayon na dayon. Pista pa lang dakpon na unta namo apan daghan lang dyud kaayong tawo busa gipadayon lang una namo among surveillance nila,” Abot said.

Abot said Ornopia often seeks Repello’s help in disposing of shabu.

Ornopia during interrogation said he gets his supply of shabu from Consolacion town and Cebu City. (FREEMAN)
