How many enterprises in Mandaue operate without business permits?

CEBU, Philippines - Believe it or not, 8,444 business establishments in Mandaue City have not yet paid taxes to the city as the March 31 tax mapping would show.

IT consultant Qeurubim Momongan, at yesterday press conference, said that of the 16,647 business establishments in the city, only 7,803 have acquired business permits.

Momongan however said that with the implementation of the full automation project, the city collected P200 million in business taxes for the month of January this year alone.

He said that with full automation, it is easier for the city government to know which establishment is operating without a business permit.

These establishments would soon be sent notices which would inform them about their disregard for the law, Momongan said. (FREEMAN)
