Horoscope

February 2, 2002

- Joyce Jillson -
Happy Groundhog Day! The friendly Aquarian sun and the partnership-0riented Libra moon promise you’ll have a bit more fun in groups of two. It’s a good time to remind yourself that you chose the friends you have around you. Pick up new ones, too. If you’re not happy with someone’s quality, take note of it. Make sure the newbies are free of drama.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)
. It’s time to deal with your parents’ unfinished business. The arts are definitely a possible outlet for self-expression. Take a relaxed approach to weekend activities. You have more friends than you know what to do with.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)
. Freedom is doing what you want. Happiness is loving what you do. A cash gift will be your ticket to a more secure future, so don’t spend it; save it. People you introduce to each other this afternoon may not hit it off at first. Give it time.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
. Personal desires and family matters may conflict. And this give you a good reason to join the ranks of the after-hours workers, where you’ll have plenty to do. Your special efforts to please your mate may go awry tonight, so relax.

CANCER (June 22-July 22).
You have the fantastic ability to spot the celebrity in others. In fact, you’d make a good talent scout. Find use for your heightened sense of touch. You’ll enjoy life more when you learn about the lunar phases that affect you so heavily.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)
. Everyone has advice to give you regarding your new love interest. Trust your own instincts. Open communication is the key to combining you romantic life with family matters. Gain a positive outlook for new business agreements.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (February 2)
. Do what’s right, and monetary abundance will be yours. Romance will be stable all month long. Next month will be more of a wild ride. A sexy new look in April will create mystique – why not give the socialites something interesting to gossip about? May is lucky for real estate investments. A powerful alliance with an Aries or Virgo translates into big bucks. Your lucky numbers are: 6, 49, 28, 46 and 32.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
. Your ideas may seem too outlandish to some, but pursue them anyway. Singles must get out to revive their sensuality and re-ignite the thrill of romance. When you maintain a positive outlook good things will definitely come your way.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23)
. Dig for more information before making a financial decision. Honesty has its rewards in love, so stick to your principles. A suitable partner, probably a Scorpio of Cancer, will arrive just in time to make you happy.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21)
. Friends may encourage you to slow down, but you’ll have none of it! Keep your nose to the grindstone, and your progress will be far-reaching. Your mate is jealous and needs a little extra attention. Shoot for a higher limit with creditors.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).
Your sixth sense will guide you in romantic mattes. Even though you’re not willing to take orders, it won’t hurt to take notes! A friendly gathering may bring with it a temptation to overspend – resist with all your right.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
. What seems like a rare chance will actually come around again, so don’t be said if it doesn’t pan out this time. A purchase you’ll make is well-deserved, if you have the guts to buy it. Your new love interest pursues you with fervor.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
. Forget past mistakes; your mate is ready to make amends. This afternoon, the rules won’t suit you, so change them. You’ll have a secret ally who’s probably a Taurus. Singles will make positive and lasting impressions tonight.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20).
Find new ways of making money, since you have a knack for meeting the right people. A Gemini may accompany you on your path to success. Keep your options open. Let the world fight without your intervention. It’ll all work out.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS:
"In this time of economic hardship, I, a Libra, feel very uneasy about quitting a job that pays well. I just can’t help thinking there’s something better out there for me. Plus, my boss is a jerk. It makes me mad that someone I see every day is so hard to be around. His birthday is Jan. 10, 1952. Should I quit?"

He’s an in-charge Capricorn, and there is something you admire about this man. In fact, the only reason you hang around is because you feel that if you could learn his secret, you’ll probably attain some of your other goals quickly. Capricorn’s are extremely ambitious, and they accomplish what they set out to do. This is a sign whose traits include diligence, extreme organization and a hardworking attitude. He’s not going to change, no matter what you do, so, yes, quit. Before you put in your final notice (and this man will try to make you work past your final day, so be firm, or this will drag on forever), write down what you wanted to learn from him in the first place, and look for a position that will help you hone those skills.

COUPLE OF THE WEEKEND:
Scottish actor Alan Cumming was the co-writer, co-director and co-star of "The Anniversary Party" with fellow Aquarian, Jennifer Jason Leigh. His name will become better known through 2002, and by the ed of 2003, he’ll have a comedy hit on his hands that has "Oscar nomination" written all over it. Aquarius is the sign of the future, so it’s no big surprise that his first hit as a filmmaker was created with the best technology in the digital world. His name will be synonymous with stardom in years to come.
