Jake, na-goose bumps sa GMA!

Masayang-masaya si Jake Cuenca dahil muling nakatuntong sa bakuran ng GMA Network.

Mahigit dalawang dekada na ang nakalilipas nang huling makagawa ng proyekto ang aktor sa Kapuso network. Matatandaang taong 2006 nang lumipat sa ABS-CBN si Jake. “This is surreal for me talaga. It is amazing. The last time I was here was 20 years ago, so long time ago. I was having goose bumps on the way here. No’ng naglalakad ako diyan kanina I remembered being young. Tito Dougs (Douglas Quijano), my first manager, hindi pa ako artista no’n, he took me here sa taping ng Kool Ka Lang with Richard Gomez, Joey Marquez, Raymart Santiago. He introduced me to show business, here. My first TV show, Click. ‘Yung first take ko dito, 50, take 45. I could not do it. ‘Yung kaba ko, hindi ko talaga magawa. But almost everything I did learn and the experience I gained in GMA really turned me to the actor that I am today,” nakangiting kwento sa amin ni Jake sa Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.

Mula noon ay marami nang nakarelasyong artista ang binata. Ngayon ay opisyal nang magkasintahan sina Jake at Rabiya Mateo. “Kami na, really, really proud to say it. Kasi she’s just an amazing woman, incredible woman and very intelligent,” pagtatapat ng aktor.

Nagsimula umanong magparamdam si Jake kay Rabiya sa pamamagitan ng social media. “I sent her DM on social media. Kasi sabi ko, paano magko-cross ‘yung paths namin? Kasi we’re two different networks. She’s always definitely been a crush of mine. No’ng tinapos ko ‘yung dalawang programa ko, finished my responsibilities. I had to shoot my shot and messaged her on social media. I liked a few photos of her first and finollow ko siya. Nagulat ako she followed me back. And our conversation started from there,” pagbabahagi niya.

Para sa aktor ay talagang napahanga siya sa dedikasyon ng beauty queen upang maabot ang pangarap. “She’s the person who’s willing to walk away from it (show business) and go to med school. I find that very remarkable. She just made it to UST med school. I’m very proud of her. She’s going to med school for four years and maybe taking up masters. Ako, sobrang passionate about show business and I’ve been here for 25 years. I find it very refreshing na kaya niyang gawin ‘yon. I find it very admirable na ide-dedicate niya ‘yung sarili niya dito. It’s gonna be a long road,” paglalahad ng binata.

“She was nervous, she was on the waitlist for UST. She didn’t know if she’s gonna get in. So I told her, ‘Why don’t you come to Hong Kong with me?’ I have work there, maybe if we go to Dis­neyland, I believe if you’re on the right frequency of happiness you’re gonna manifest your dreams. It happened in Disneyland. Nagkatotoo ‘yung sinabi ko sa kanya. She got a text, then when she opened it, she cried. She got in. It was truly an unforgettable trip kasi do’n ko rin siya tinanong to be my girlfriend. We’re dating for three months and finally I asked her to be my girlfriend officially. I’m trying to be a responsible boyfriend. Obviously, my promise to her is loyalty. ‘Coz that’s the most important thing to her, loyalty and respect. She also promised me the same thing. We’ve been through similar scenarios in the past. No’ng nag-uusap na kami, it was unbelievable how many things we have in common, even the lessons. Nag-match kami talaga eh,” pagdedetalye ni Jake.

Kahit umuusbong pa lamang ang pagmamahalan ay nakikita na umano ni Jake na si Rabiya ang kanyang babaeng pakakasalan at makakasama habangbuhay. “I can see that. I don’t wanna spoil it. Ayaw kong magsalita nang gano’n but definitely with her, I can really see it,” giit ng aktor. (Reports from JCC)
