MANILA, Philippines – John Estrada has expressed his support to his friend Willie Revillame.

“Mahal ko si Willie, kaya mo ‘yan,” he said in an interview in “Tonight with Boy Abunda” on Monday.

This was in connection to the recent decision of the Court of Appeals (CA) to “arrest and arraign” Revillame after reviewing their camp’s appeal regarding the child abuse complaint filed against him by the Department of Social Work and Development (DSWD).

The CA has found “probable cause” on the complaint filed against the TV host in 2011, regarding the Mar. 12, 2011 episode of his defunct show “Willing Willie.” He allegedly persuaded the child to do some dance moves similar to a “macho dancer.”

Revillame’s camp however clarified that the CA’s decision merely states that “[the RTC] may proceed for the trial so that the guilt or innocence of Willie can be determined by the court. So now we will proceed with the trial.”

Estrada added that “I think the kid wasn’t abused,” but didn’t give further explanation of what he said.
