MANILA, Philippines - A total 104 couples got married in simultaneous Catholic and Protestant rites sponsored by Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Philippines Corporation (Hitachi GST) last Oct. 10. The Catholic mass wedding was held at the Sto. Niño De Cebu Parish in Biñan, Laguna with Hitachi GST president and Site GM Chandramogan Anamirtham as one of the wedding sponsors. The Protestant rites were held at a nearby resort. With the theme Ngayon at Kailanman, the mass wedding was the highlight of HitachiGST’s CSR program this year.
All the wedding expenses of the couples — gowns, rings, and dinner reception — were shouldered by the company. The event aimed at providing opportunities for employees and their dependents to receive company health and government leave benefits not available to them if they’re not legally married. Anamirtham says he wants the company’s CSR program to truly touch and change the lives of employees.
