Don Bosco nails 3-peat

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines – The Don Bosco Technology Center booters outlasted the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, 2-0, in their final match to complete a grandslam feat in secondary football event of the 2015 Cebu Schools Athletic Federation, Inc. season yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Joseph Rena was the man of the hour after knocking in both goals for the Bosconians.

"It was really a good eye-opener for the boys. I also don't know why that whenever we play against SHS-AdC, they play differently," said coach Glenn Ramos, referring to their 1-0 loss to SHS-Ateneo during their previous meeting in the elimination round.

Rena broke the ice of the match at the 30th. He went on to seal DBTC's historic triumph at the 80th.

Winning against SHS-AdC has surely given back the Bosconians the confidence they need as they bid to regain lost glory in the Milo Little Olympics.

For coach Ramos, it was also a good sign that the "jinx" that beset them against SHS-Ateneo has finally been broken.

Earlier, the University of Southern Philippines Foundation subdued the University of San Carlos, 1-0, to take home the third place trophy. (FREEMAN)
