CEBU, Philippines - The team of Dr. Edwin Ho Lim, Nestor Mendoza, Ian Quell, and Johnny Annuar took home the title in the Triangular Tournament hosted by Alta Vista Golf and Country Club for members of  its sister clubs from Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia early this week.

The team led by Dr. Lim fired 11-under-par 61 strokes in the scramble format and edged the squad composed of Club Director Vicente Go, Vince Colina, Datuk Robin Loh, and Ricky Ng in the countback.

The team of Go finished second in the event, which was also participated in by members of Sabah Golf and Country Club and the Keningau Golf and Country Club.

Third place went to the team of Club Treasurer Ramon Sebastian, Ernie Uy, Lim Yin Yee, and Henry Anjun with 10-under-par 62 strokes.  They won the award after beating the group of Willy Go, Tatsumi Koreeda, and Thomas Lin in the countback.

A total of 15 teams saw action in the 18-hole event.

A reciprocity agreement with Keningau Golf and Country Club was also signed during the awards ceremony.

By being sister clubs, members of Alta Vista can enjoy privileges when playing in the courses of SGCC and KGCC.  The same is also accorded to the Malaysians when they visit Cebu.

The group from Malaysia was led by Datuk Robin Loh, the president of SGCC.

The players from Malaysia also regularly join the major tournaments of Alta Vista, which are The View Invitational and the Fun Golf Tournament.

Loh also extended an invitation to the members of Alta Vista to visit their club either April or May this year. (PR from www.fullpointcebu.com) (FREEMAN)
