CEBU, Philippines - The University of San Jose-Recoletos gets reinforcement for their campaign in the upcoming Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League Battle of Champions on January 12 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.

After winning the Cebu leg, USJ-R boosts their line-up after deciding to pick two players from Saint Theresa’s College and Mandaue City Comprehensive National High School plus two imports from USJ-R and Southwestern University college teams.

College players and foreign imports are allowed to play for one team in the national finals as long as they are within the age limit.

Providing extra firepower to the baby spiking Jaguars are USJ-R’s Jesse Marie Joquia and Therese Rae Ramas from SWU.

The two players picked up by the USJ-R coaching staff to beef up their line-up are hardworking Paula Maninang of STC and MCCNHS' Maria Dominique Pacres.

Maninang and Pacres who made a sterling performance during the Shakey’s Cebu leg, was recommended to try-out for the national pool together with 22 other Cebuanas.

The rest of the baby spiking Jaguars who will represent Cebu in the final battle in Manila are Rica Rivera, Kaye Araon, Florani Camacho, Deanna Wong, Daniella Alfeche, Sheen Durango, and Ana Aldave.  (FREEMAN)
