San Roque, Cansojong, Dumlog dominate Talisay basketball tourney

CEBU, Philippines - San Roque, Cansojong and Dumlog shared the limelight at the end of the 2012 Talisay City Mayor’s Cup Inter-Barangay Basketball Tournament at the city's sports complex.

San Roque ruled the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) division after whipping Poblacion, 63-53.

The San Roque mainstays had a good start and even if they relaxed a bit in the next two quarters, they regained their momentum in the final quarter to take home the crown.

San Roque’s John Denver Satorre was adjudged as the finals MVP. He is joined in the Mythical Five selection by his teammates Ryan Labajo and Edrian Abarquez and Poblacion’s Paul Torrecampo and Jeraldin Delima.

Dumlog, on the other hand, shackled San Isidro, 97-89, to rule the seniors division.

Christopher Obeso exploded with 31 points for Dumlog to become the hands-down choice as MVP. He automatically made it to the Mythical Five along with his teammate Giovani Tabay, Tabunok’s Jason Cabrilles and San Isidro’s Joshua Romelle Dela Serna and Richard Gutana.

In the open division, Cansojong lifted the championship trophy after smashing Lagtang, 99-86.

Cansojong’s Duprey Reyes romped off with the MVP award. His teammates Emilio Aninon and Ricky Labajo along with Lagtang’s Celso Colegado and Reymond Tabar formed part of the Mythical Five.
