GCM, MBD edge rivals in FYA caging

CEBU, Philippines - The Tata Laborte-skippered GCM squad escaped with an 89-85 win over Team Benedict, while the MBD Law Office nipped the Marty Pimentel Customs Brokers, 83-73, in the F. Llamas Youth Association (FYA) last Monday night at the Brgy. Tisa gym.

Laborte paced five GCM players in double figures with 22 points. Marnel Tomada and Jimmy Tapdasan scored 13 and 11, respectively, while Ejohn Fernandez and Eugene Oropa chipped in 10 markers apiece.

Ryan Dacayana topscored for Benedict with 32 points, even as Ranel Patalita, Toper Marta and Michael Garcia also banged in twin digits.

Earlier, former UC Webmaster Dandan Enriquez nailed 23 points and Nico Laborte added 22 for the MBD Law Office of team captain Junrey Arreglo.

The Pimentel Brokers, which crashed to their second straight loss, was led by Dexter Caballero with a season-high 36 points.
