Konstrukt Permaplast, Plexibond earn twice-to-beat edge in UABC hoopla
CEBU, Philippines - Konstrukt Permaplast and Plexibond eased past separate foes to clinch the top two spots heading into the semifinal round of the United Architects Basketball Club (UABC) Mini Cup 2012 at the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) gym.
Rock-solid center Antonio "Jay-R" Decatoria, Jr. bulldozed his way to a 34-point finish as Konstrukt Permaplast triumphed over Wallguard, 88-85, to emerge as the elimination topnotcher with a 4-1 win-loss record, while Plexibond bested Healthy Home, 83-78.
Plexibond and Healthy Home actually finished the classification round with identical 3-2 win-loss cards, but Plexibond emerged as the second seed by virtue of a simple tie.
Thus, Konstrukt Permaplast and Plexibond will enjoy twice-to-beat incentives in the crossover semis scheduled on August 5.
Meanwhile, Cris Matunog fired 37 points as Titan Elastometric took a graceful exit following a 93-90 upset of KnoxOut.
