- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -

CEBU, Philippines - The Kenyans led by Josphat Kiptanui and Abraham Missos once again unleashed their running might to dominate their respective classes in the 2012 Unity Run that drew close to 10,000 participants yesterday at the Cebu Business Park grounds.

It was actually a 1-2 finish for the Kenyans in the men's 10-kilometer race, with Kiptanui crossing the finish line first with the time of 32 minutes and 3.6 seconds followed by his compatriot Richard Mutisya in 32:19.82.

Cebu’s Adonis Singson could only make it to third place with a 35:10.34 clocking.

In the 5K category, Missos took the top honors in 16 minutes and 34 seconds. The next two spots were occupied by Cebu's top bets in Mendel Lopez (16:44.25) and John Philip Duenas.

Joel Delposo caught part of the spotlight after lording it over in the 3K run with the time of nine minutes and 50 seconds. Robert Daang wound up second in 9:50.21, while Aldrin Agang came out third in 9:59.59.

In the women's 10K, Mary Grace de los Santos proved too hot for her rivals to handle. She easily snatched the crown after registering the time of 39:35.70.

Christy Sevilleno-Tutor placed second in 42:00.57, while Madelyn Carter ended up third in 42:54.85.

Mary Joy Tabal claimed the 5K tiara in 20:02.84, while the Andrin sisters Lovely Fe and Cherry took the second and third place honors with the time of 20:08.85 and 21:47.11, respectively.

Another Adrin, Jhean, topped the women’s 3K in 11:50.12 followed by Krizel Diongson and Aiza Suwaybaguio. (FREEMAN)
