Carcar to host 8th leg of MS Motosuit Motocross Series

CEBU, Philippines - Award-winning sportsman Lou Ornopia, organizer of the annual MS Motosuit Motocross Series, has sanctioned the 2nd Nice Apura International Motocross Cup on November 13 at the Andremona racetrack in Villa Anunang, Liburon, Carcar City as part of its 8th leg this year.

“It’s all set up and we’re expecting over 100 riders, including six Danish nationals, to join the international race. And we are proud that this is part of the 8th leg of the MS Motosuit series,” said Ornopia.

The Danish riders who will see action are Jens Nielsen, Danni Hojris, Kasper Oriis, Bjerrum Nikolaj, Jakobsen Nicolaj, Vindfeldtjo Anne Pedersen.

They will compete in 14 categories.

The event takes place on the day when Manny Pacquiao battles against Juan Manuel Marquez in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Dili angayan mabalaka ang atong mga motocross fans kay mag set up ta og Signal cable para live nato makita ang duwa. Unya i-timing nato nga walay modagan categories para motan-aw ang atong mga riders sa widescreen,” Ornopia added.

Carcar City Mayor Nice Apura earlier said this is the biggest motocross race to happen in his area.

Aside from the Danish daredevils, the organizers also invited Sel-J Racing Team from Manila and other top Cebuano riders in the mold of Jon Eleazer Adlawan of Power Sports Racing, Josephus Abellar, Andrew Canlas and Ian Reyes, who will compete in the expert class.

The race, presented by Petron, Carcar City government, Geraldine Ybañez, William Racoma and Rudy Nadela, is among the highlights of Carcar's annual fiesta in honor of its beloved patroness St. Catherine de Alexandria on November 25.  (FREEMAN)
