Ave Maria snaps 3-game losing slide

CEBU, Philippines - Ave Maria Sanctuary Park ended its three-game slide with a 92-57 demolition of the depleted San Marino Corned Tuna in the 5th CESAFI Partners' Cup at the Cebu Coliseum.

Earlier, Rose Aquarius Merchandising also put an end of their awful four-game losing streak in style as they scored an 89-75 rout of the Winner Beef Loaf.Ave Maria's 40-25 lead at halftime already sent a strong signal of what was going to be the outcome of the game as San Marino was forced to play with only four players in the third period and succumbed to Ave Maria's trapping defense.

Ave Maria mounted its largest lead of the tournament by any team with 40 points, 68-28, down to the last three minutes of the period using a 28-3 run.

Jason Olbedado fired 20 points to lead the Ave Maria while three other teammates chipped in 10 points each.

Armecin scored a baker's dozen to pace the San Marino.
