Lopez, De los Santos rule Running MAD
CEBU, Philippines - It was a great 'homecoming' for Mendel Lopez in Cebu as he topped the Running MAD for Wellness yesterday at the UP-Cebu grounds in Brgy. Lahug, this city.
Lopez ruled the 12K run in style as he was ahead by approximately one kilometer from his closest pursuer Philip Duenas of Southwestern University. Sherwin Managil settled for third.
In the distaff side, the anticipated showdown between Liezl Lumindas-Gitaruelas and Mary Grace de los Santos did not materialize with the former dropping the event for another activity in Cagayan de Oro.
Thus, it was like a walk-in-the-park for De los Santos in the women’s open class.
Madelyn Carter wound up second, while Joeyry Ann Lee placed third.
In the 6K category, Joel Delposo bagged the top spot followed by Miljun Luterte and Adonis Singson.
The women’s side saw another SWU mainstay Miscelle Gibuena winning the crown. – THE FREEMAN
