CHEDA rules Osmeña darts tourney

-

The Cebu City Hall Employees Darts Association (CHEDA) survived a rough-sailing championship match against Tom 80, 9-8, to win the four-man team title of the 6th Mayor Tomas Osmeña Inter-Barangay Summer League Darts Tournament at the Baseline Sports and Recreation Center.

CHEDA, manned by its team manager Bert Colong Jr., Roy Laude, William Encorporado, Yoko Quilope and Jomar Amerol, managed to hang on and win by the narrowest of margins over Tom 80’s Raymond Solas, Roger Dequit,Dino Bacayo, Blu Boy Manlunas and Tom Benuesa.

Quilope was actually the hero for CHEDA as he won the last match on a double 16.

Lola Eats-Guadalupe of Dick Ramirez, Odong Pamatian,Esteban Montenegro and Allan Velos settled for third, while CHEDA Team B of Dario Potot, Lando Cadorna, Wyno Ugang, Angelito Badayos and Wennie Ocañada finished fourth out of 10 competing teams.

On the other hand, the tandem of Jovy Pepito of San Nicolas and Esteban “Steve” Montenegro of Capitol Site emerged as the best among 42 entries in the open-youth doubles action.

The twice-to-beat Pepito and Montenegro avoided any complications by posting a 5-3 victory over Andrew Besin of San Nicolas and Wennie Ocañada of Inayawan in the finals.

Pardo’s Christopher Daclan and Mabolo’s Junex Perez wound up third, while Kamputhaw’s Julius Antonio and Zapatera’s Wyno Ugang occupied the fourth spot.

The winners will receive their prizes during the awarding ceremony to be graced by Cebu City Councilor Sylvan “Jack” Jakosalem at 8 pm this Saturday at Baseline Restaurant. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
