First ACY 2006, JRJ 2007 dominate foes in CECABA

First ACY 2006 and JRJ Enterprises 2007 scored their second victory in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 10th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC gym.

Class 2006 drew explosive games from Nolsie John Cisneros and Junwynn Dy to whip Jepoy Sales 2001, 69-55, while Class 2007 escaped with a 46-42 win over JV Bakeshop ’99. They now both sport 2-3 win-loss records.

 Cisneros charted 29 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals, while Dy chipped in 28 points, seven assists, six steals and three rebounds in a dazzling show of all-around hardcourt brilliance for Class 2006.

The First ACY-backed squad actually trailed by three points at halftime, 26-29, but staged a daring breakway in the third period, 30-12, to grab the lead for good, 56-41.

Marlon Lao had 16 points on top of a season-high 16 rebounds and three assists for Class 2001. Steve Macias added 10 points and five rebounds, but they fell to 2-3.

Raymark Ryan Ong, on the other hand, scattered 22 points on a 10-of-15 sniping from the field to lead Class 2007. Juan Carlo Espada ably supported him with 15 points and season-highs seven assists and five steals.

Kent Noeh Ang was the lone double-digit scorer with 16 points as Class ’99 slumped to its fourth straight defeat in as many games.
