Ngo tops second monthly Cebu Center Finals

Elizabeth Ngo came out as the second monthly Cebu Center finals winner of the 7th SM Cup Bowling Tournament the other day at the SM City-Cebu Bowling Center.

Ngo posted a total of 1,991 pinfalls to win the title over Cynthia Kua, who ended her campaign with 1,961 pinfalls. Nestor Longcanaya placed third with 1,915 pins.

Ngo went home P12,000 richer, while Kua and Longcanaya pocketed P6,000 and P4,000, respectively.

Completing the top 10 cast were Jake Yap, Inday De Gracia, 6th SM Cup champion John Gasataya, Alex Damole, Nestor Ponteres, Boy Gacho and Art Dacumos.

Aside from cash prizes, Kua and Longcanaya also got gift packs from Milo after winning the highest single with handicap in their respective divisions. Longcanaya toppled 278 pins, while Kua downed 259 pinfalls in the event co-presented by Pepsi.

The third and last monthly Cebu Center Finals will be on September 2. Qualifying period will be from August 5 to Sept 1.

The top 40 players from the 1st to 3rd monthly Cebu center finals will advance to the 3-day Gatorade National Championship in Manila on September 7, 15 and 16.

The champion in the national finals will receive a brand new Nissan Sentra, while a total of P400,000 in cash prizes will be given away to the top 24 national bowlers.—Caecent No-ot Magsumbol
