Pato lifts DBC over San Roque in Aboitiz Cup

- Sona Mae V. Povadora -
Michael Pato scored six goals to power Don Bosco College (DBC) over host team San Roque Football Club (SRFC), 10-0, as other boys-15 contenders scored major blowouts in the 9th Aboitiz Football Cup at the San Roque field in Mandaue.

Pato started the ferocious run of DBC early in the match by striking at the 6th minute to put DBC on top, 1-0, while Samuel Caesar Damole found the back of the net at the 12th minute, for a 2-0 lead.

Pato again got past SRFC's defense to score in the 28th minute and Sean Gacayan maneuvered two goals at the 41st and 56th minute.

Another goal from Anthony Clark Maderazo at the 49t minute to make it 6-0 for DBC.

Then Pato became unstoppable late in the game, hitting one goal after another, scoring at 51st, 58th, 64th and 67th minutes, to further nail the win.

It was a similar scenario for Paref Springdale scoring a 8-1 blitz against host team Cebu International School (CIS).

Bryan Liu stepped on the gas late in the second half as he delivered a hat trick but it was Carlos Miguel Veloso who ignited the barrage for Springdale with a goal at the 19th minute, while Timothy James Mateo knocked off one at the 44th minute via penalty to close the half 2-0 in their favor.

Groping with its defense, Michael Sharpe prevented a total shutout as the latter managed to sneak in at the 47th minute boosting the confidence of CIS.

But that was the last stance they could make as Liu join in the fray scoring at the 52nd, 56th, and 71st minute to further worsen things for CIS, while Dominic Paul Garcia had a share of Springdale's victory nailing at 67th and 84th minute.

In the other games, Blessed John Seminary held virtual workout over University of Southern Philippines Foundation, 8-0, while Hiroshi FC mangled FC Inter Cebu, 6-0.

Chris Niño delos Santos drew four goals at the 2nd, 4th, 43rd & 55th minutes while Dexterius Encabo at 6th, 41st and 42nd and Cesario Fat at the 86th for Blessed John Seminary.

Jerson Omnos, on the other hand, lead Hiroshi's carnage scoring at the 25th, 49th, 81st minutes while Harry Bordalba contributed one goal each with Miguel Subang and Ronel Cuizon.
