2 suspects yield shabu worth P89K

CEBU, Philippines — Two drug suspects were arrested and suspected shabu worth an estimated ?89,488 was seized in separate buy-bust operations by the Cebu City Police Office last Thursday night, June 18, and early morning Friday, June 19.
The operations, carried out by Police Station 1 in Barangay T. Padilla and Police Station 7 in Barangay Bulacao, Cebu City, were part of the intensified campaign against illegal drugs and were coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
In the first operation on Thursday evening, personnel of Police Station 1 led by Police Major Alvino Enguito arrested a drug suspect after an alleged sale of illegal drugs to an undercover operative.
Authorities confiscated around eight grams of suspected shabu worth ?54,400. The suspect was placed under temporary police custody pending the filing of charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165.
In a separate operation in the early hours of June 19, operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Team of Police Station 7, under Police Captain Troy John Lalamunan, arrested another drug personality in Barangay Bulacao. Seized from the suspect were approximately 5.16 grams of suspected shabu valued at ?35,088.
The suspect is currently detained at Police Station 7 in Inayawan while documentation and case preparation are ongoing for the filing of appropriate charges.
Authorities reiterated their call for public support by reporting illegal drug activities in their communities as part of sustained anti-criminality efforts. — (FREEMAN)
