Eleazar vows to increase senior citizens’ pension

The Freeman

MANILA, Philippines —  Senatorial candidate Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar is eyeing an increase on the pension of indigent senior citizens should he win in the coming senatorial race.

With the rising prices of basic goods and services, Eleazar believes that it is time to increase their pension to help them purchase their needs, especially their medicines.

Senior citizens are getting at least P500 for their monthly pension.

Aside from increasing the monthly pension, Eleazar said he would improve the health services in barangays for the benefit of senior citizens.

The retired police general added that he would be open in giving opportunities for the elderlies if they still want to work despite their age.

(FREEMAN)
