CEBU, Philippines — The Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 has assured that policemen who took part in the three-day Synchronized Enhancement Managing and Police Operations (SEMPO) in Cebu that netted P70 million of illegal drugs will be rewarded.

PRO-7 Director Albert Ignatius Ferro, on the other end, has also challenged other police offices and units in Central Visayas to work harder.

The three-day SEMPO of the PNP netted P70 million worth of illegal drugs with estimated weight of 10 kilos.

Ferro said that the police personnel of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) and Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) will be properly rewarded.

“I assure you that they will be properly rewarded, both monetary and awards,” Ferro said in a press briefing last Friday.

Ferro has challenged and reminded the remaining police units in Lapu-Lapu City, province of Siquijor, Bohol and Negros to ‘work harder’ in the PNP’s campaign against any form of criminality.

“We will ask them to work harder.  I have visited Bohol and we are trying to inspire the police there and hopefully they will also deliver the same vigor, enthusiasm and dedication as shown by Cebu Province and Cebu City Police,” Ferro said.

As he had mentioned in his initial directives when he was installed as PRO-7 Regional Director, he will evaluate the performances of every police personnel and officers.

“Actually, I was very satisfied because I was asking the City Director of Cebu and last month gamay lang ilang nakuha nga drugs so this might be one for the year,” Ferro said.

Amidst the accomplishments, Ferro continued to remind his men to continue their intensified operations against all forms of criminality, particularly against illegal drugs.

Last Friday, the heads of different police units in PRO-7 had presented their accomplishments over their three-day SEMPO that had 1,325 region-wide operations that was also dubbed as first 2020 SEMPO.

The said SEMPO has focused on the campaign against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, loose firearms, service of warrants of arrest and OPLAN Katok.

The modes of the operations involved the implementation of search warrants, raids in different gambling dens, checkpoints and Oplan Bakal Sita. (FREEMAN)
