12 drug suspects yield in Lapu-Lapu
CEBU, Philippines - Two top drug personalities and 10 others have surrendered before the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office yesterday to clear their names from the drug watchlist.
Rasul Andingan Pabilla, 41 and Brix Mamao Daligding, 35, both residents of Camella Homes in Barangay Pajac turned themselves in to the police headquarters around 10:30 a.m.
Police Senior Superintendent Rommel Cabagnot, director of LCPO, said Pabilla and Daligding are the number 2 and 3 drug personalities in their watchlist, respectively. The two allegedly started peddling drugs in Butuan and Davao before relocating to Lapu-Lapu City.
Pabilla admitted his involvement in the illegal drugs trade.
"Naatlan lang ko nga nasud ko ani," he said.
Daligding refused to issue a statement. The other surrenderers are Pabilla's relatives. They are Allan Mapande, Arman Tambilawan Pinto, Lantong Managgolo Tandayao, Boradi Macala Pascan, Alimona Ampaso Saomay, Nurban Pabilla Gunti, Jalil Andingan Pabilla, Jamil Andingan Pabilla, Abdullah Andingan Pabilla and Widad Andingan Mamao.
Cabagnot, however, said all of them will be released after the mandatory profiling considering that they have no pending cases.
"Allegedly, dungan silang niundang pero wa man sila matangtang sa listahan mao ni-surrender sila. Ilaha gi-surrender ilaha armas duha ka .45 caliber. Nakita gyud nato nga gusto silang magbag-o," said Cabagnot.
The unlicensed firearms were owned by Daligding and Pabilla.
Cabagnot said that the voluntary surrender of Daligding and Pabilla and other drug personalities creates an impact in their campaign against illegal drugs.
"Dako kaayo ni nga impact... sa tinuod lang kanang madakpan (or) mo-surrender, sila ang motudlo kung asa gikuha," Cabagnot said.
Cabagnot said they are now looking for the top drug personality in the city. (FREEMAN)
