Bryner L. Diaz - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines- Over P120,000 worth of electronic gadgets have been stolen by an unidentified person from an English school in Barangay Talamban, Cebu City last Sunday.

Jean Flores, administrative officer of English as Second Language School in Highway 77, reported the alleged burglary to the police station.

The Talamban Police Station sought the assistance of the Crime Scene Investigation Unit in conducting the investigation.

Initial investigation revealed that Japanese national Anna Takeuchi, 27, who stays at the school, discovered the alleged break-in after she noticed that some of the things in her room were already missing.

The missing items include a laptop, voice recorder, an electronic dictionary, shoes, bag, mobile phone and personal belongings.

The investigators believe that the burglar used a knife to open the main door. The knife was recovered from the crime scene. Crime scene investigators were able to lift fingerprints of the unidentified burglar.

Meanwhile, two suspected thieves were arrested by the police Sunday afternoon in Barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City.

Joemari Rodriguez, 21, and Julius Villarico, 35, were arrested after the police recovered stolen items from their possession. The stolen items recovered from the suspects belong to Jink Cabante, 29.

Cabante reported to the police that her laptop and other electronic gadgets worth P47,100 have been stolen. A follow-up operation resulted in the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen items.
