CEBU, Philippines - Two men were shot dead in separate incidents in the cities of Danao and Cebu yesterday.

In Barangay Kahumayan, Danao, 22-year-old Razie Boy Labador was shot and killed by his friend Santiago Derecho while inside a videoke house at 1 am yesterday.

Labador died immediately of a gunshot wound to the chest while Derecho escaped.

SPO1 Rodrigo Roble of Danao City Police said Derecho and Labador were with their friends having fun at the videoke house when the suspect suddenly pulled out an unknown caliber of firearm and shot the victim once.

Based on their investigation, Robles said, the victim and the suspect did not argue prior to the incident.

“Amigo na gud ni sila unya silingan pa. Wala sa’y bangi kuno. Galibog mi nganong gipusil,” said Roble, adding that they will talk to witnesses as part of their investigation.

Labador’s family will be pursuing charges against Derecho, said the police officer.

Meanwhile, a 31-year-old man was shot dead by an unidentified assailant at past 12 am yesterday in Alviola Street, Sitio Ponce 2, Barangay Carreta, Cebu City.

Rowen Lobitaña, of Barangay T. Padilla, died immediately of a gunshot wound to the head.

SPO4 Rey Cuyos, homicide section investigator, said Lobitaña just came from the house of his former live-in partner when he was shot.

Police recovered two empty shells of a cal. 9mm pistol, a deformed slug and a bullet from the crime scene.

Cuyos believed that somebody bears a grudge against Lobitaña based on the gunshot wound.

He said they will interview witnesses who can shed light on what happened and possibly give description of the assailant.  (FREEMAN)
