CPPO commends Minglanilla police

CEBU, Philippines - Despite strong winds and heavy rains brought by the Typhoon Pablo,  Minglanilla police pursued in arresting a man who has a pending rape case and three counts of acts of lasciviousness in relation to RA 7610 or Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

The 39-year-old suspect who was accused of raping his teenage daughter and molesting his three nieces was arrested by the police at his residence in Kingswood Village, Barangay Lipata, Minglanilla shortly before midday Tuesday.

Cebu Provincial Police Office Director Patrocinio Comendador will give the Minglanilla police a commendation for a job well done.

Police were armed with an arrest warrant for rape case and acts of lasciviousness in relation to RA 7610 signed by Judge Bienvenido R. Saniel Jr. of Regional Trial Court Branch 20, Cebu City.

The suspect is accused of molesting his 13-year-old daughter in May 2009 and abusing his three nieces aged 11, 14, and 16 in separate incidents.

Based on the records of the Minglanilla Police Station, he sexually harassed his 16-year-old niece in October 2009. He also allegedly molested his 11-year-old niece in January 2010 and the last was in April 2010 in which he was accused of raping the 14-year-old girl.

PO2 Hazel Tuazon, Women’s and Children’s Protection Desk officer, said the case was filed in April 2010 and the warrant was released in 2011.

“Wala lang namo ma-serve dayon kay nagtago-tago man ang suspek,” Tuazon said in a phone interview.

Tuazon said the suspect denied committing the acts when the police arrested him.

Chief Insp. Timmar Alam, Minglanilla police chief, said, “As far as our station is concerned and for the benefit of the CPPO we will continue to do our job well, nagpasalamat mi kang PD sa iyang appreciation sa amoa,” Alam told The FREEMAN. — (FREEMAN)
