CEBU, Philippines - Employees of the provincial government are now being monitored closely after two of them were caught sniffing shabu at the Capitol last week.
Retired Colonel Cesar Veloso, Capitol consultant on peace and order, said they are taking note of physical appearance, indicators of a drug user, and even information linking a person to drug use.
“Kung naay mamatikdan, we will recommend to the governor for drug testing,” Veloso told The FREEMAN.
Provincial Administrator Eduardo Habin also warned that those found positive for using illegal drugs will be dealt with accordingly.
The Capitol’s committee on discipline and investigation (CODI) is now preparing administrative charges against employees Cirilo Abrenica, Administrative Officer VI, and Cyril Solita, a Capitol laborer.
After the incident, a memorandum was issued to remind Capitol employees not to enter their office after working hours without his authorization. Veloso said overtime work is still allowed but only up to 10:00 p.m.
Several items were recovered from the PPDO office, including drug paraphernalia such as two pieces of lighter. They also recovered two pieces of sim pack, cellular phone, a cutter, a bunch of keys, a padlock, a polo shirt (uniform), and a pair of black shoes. (FREEMAN)
